FRANKLIN WINE FESTIVAL PATRON'S PARTY HELD
Event Preludes Grand Tasting to be Held October 22

NASHVILLE, TN (July 30, 2010) – A Patron’s Party prelude to the 2010 Franklin Wine Festival was held recently at the Events @ 1418 in Nashville. Sponsors, committee members, and other investors in mentoring came out and enjoyed scrumptious pairings prepared by the chefs from A Catered Affair and wine provided by the distributors participating in the Franklin Wine Festival.
This will mark the sixth year for the Franklin Wine Festival, presented by Cool Springs Wines and Spirits and supported by Nissan, a food and wine tasting event is a benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, and will be held Friday, October 22 at the Factory at Franklin. This is the first year for the group to host a Nashville preview party.
The Grand Tasting celebration of food and wine also includes live entertainment on two stages throughout the Factory, a silent and live auction, and delicious samplings of over 300 wines and culinary tastings from 30 Middle Tennessee area restaurants and caterers. Advance tickets are $75, and are available now at FranklinWineFestival.com. Provided they are available, tickets sold at the door will be $85 each.
Sandy Draper, Event Chairperson, commented, “The Franklin Wine Festival is fast becoming a signature event for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Williamson County, but of course the mentoring agency serves children all across Middle Tennessee. We were so happy to include a Nashville kick off to our line-up of events this year.”
The funds raised by the event will be used to serve more children with a mentor throughout Middle Tennessee through Big Brothers Big Sisters programs. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee served 2,541 children in 2009 with a mentor, and is on target to serve 2,800 children this year.
The organization depends on donations to help recruit volunteers and reach more children. Funding is used to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety, and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
